Dan
Chisholm -
Emergency
Power Supply Systems consultant and
commissioning agent specializing in acute
care facilities. As Principal of MGI
Systems, Winter Park, Florida, Dan has
provided risk assessments, commissioning and
evaluation services to health care
facilities engineers throughout the country.
As founder, and former owner of an EPSS
service company, Dan provided emergency
service to over 300 health care facilities.
He now provides consulting services to over
700 hospitals nationwide.
Dan
serves as a member of the National Fire
Protection Association's Technical Committee
responsible for NFPA 110,
Emergency
and Standby Power Systems and the
Electrical Section of NFPA 99,
Health Care
Facilities. He is also a member
of the NFPA, Health Care Section, Electrical
Sub-Committee of the Codes and Standards
Review Committee.
Dan's
numerous speaking engagements include
addressing the Health Care Engineering
Association meetings in Alabama, Alaska,
Colorado, Florida, Georgia, Indiana,
Minnesota, Mississippi, New England, New
Jersey, North Carolina, Pennsylvania, South
Carolina, Tennessee, Utah, Virginia,
Washington, West Virginia and Wisconsin. He also spoke at the American
Society of Healthcare Engineers (ASHE)
annual conferences in Denver, Nashville,
Orlando, Philadelphia, San Antonio, Seattle
and Tampa.
His

Don Rust began his career in health care
at Duke in 1966, where he has worked as an apprentice, senior electrician,
hospital electrical foreman, maintenance manager and for the last 10+ years
served as assistant director. He holds both a journeymen's electrical license,
unlimited electrical contractor's certificate, and is certified by the North
Carolina Health Care Engineers Association as a Health Care Engineer. He has
been active in both the NCHEA and ASHE organizations and has served as a
trainer with both. He serves on the editorial advisory board for Maintenance
Solutions magazine.
His responsibilities at Duke include facility maintenance management for over
6.5 million square feet (70 + buildings) and support for functions within those
buildings. The functions include health care, research, teaching, animal care,
clinics, fitness and general business operations. He is responsible for
approximately 40+ emergency generator systems, HVAC, mechanical, electrical
systems, general building envelopes throughout these facilities.
