The final 96 hour fuel question - we hope...

Opinions/answers needed.

  1. How will you be “graded” by the Joint Commission during your next survey if you plan to, or must, stay open beyond 96 hours during a power outage, and do not have the room to store 96 hours of fuel on site? (There are several hospitals that are landlocked and simply do not have the real estate to dedicate to fuel storage even if they wanted to. Shedding “Essential” systems to reduce fuel consumption is not recommended by most AHJs, nor the legal staffs of ANY hospital.)

  2. If you do not have the room to store the fuel on-site, how are you planning to address this issue in your policies and procedures?

All replies will be held in confidence. Please send reply to dan.chisholm@mgisys.com
